Plant Laborer

If the customer is to supply a laborer to assist the plant operator, that person will be at the plant at all times when the operator is on site.  This should be the same person throughout the project as they will need to be trained in plant activities and safety procedures.  Additional assistance may be required intermittently during setup and teardown, also extra assistance during daily pugmill cleanout will speed up the process.

Loader and Operator

If the customer is to supply a loader operator, this operator must be competent on the machine, and also be the same person throughout the project, as they will have to be trained in specific procedures for loading the plant.  This operator will need to build a ramp to the agg bin approximately 5’ tall 12’ wide and 25’ long .  The exact size will depend on size of loader.  The top of the ramp must be flat at least the length of the loader so the operator can properly see the agg bin and so when the brakes are applied before dumping, that force will not move the plant.

Aggregate

Aggregate fed to the plant must not contain any trash, vegetation, sharp objects, metal or any material larger than 2”.  If it is native soil, it will almost certainly have to be screened.  If material is pre screened extra care should be taken in ensuring the screened pile is kept separate from unscreened and reject material.  If anything larger than 3” enters the pugmill, serious damage may occur to the plant, causing repair and downtime expenses which will be the responsibility of the contractor.  If large materials continue to enter the pugmill, mixing will be ceased until the source can be determined and rectified.  Please contact us if you need suggestions on how to prepare the material and if it needs to be screened.
