All ingredients enter simultaneously at the
beginning of the
mixing chamber allowing them maximum mixing time.
The mixing chamber houses an interlaced
12 foot twin shaft variable speed 60 paddle pugmill designed to achieve a
violent mixing action throughout its length resulting in a well-mixed
homogeneous product. This type of
mixing, with no slump or low moisture products, is greatly more effective and
efficient than a drum type mixer that merely folds the product.
(Efficiency of a mixer is determined by the time required to
satisfactorily process the material and the amount of energy required to achieve
the desired results). A Rineer hydraulic pressure balanced vane motor capable of
achieving 13,000 LB-FT of
torque and 270 HP, adjustable between 0 and 110 RPM, turns the shafts.
This enables the mixer to obtain the optimum mixing speed and retention
time for the material being produced, with plenty of power for mixing even the
most highly cohesive materials.
